I was born in Norwich, Connecticut, and raised in Stephentown, New York and Sioux City, Iowa. My family and I then moved in Minnesota where I attended middle and high school in Blaine, Minnesota. After graduating Blaine Senior High in 2006, I attended Anoka-Ramsey Community College for three years. It was at this time that I discovered my love for English, Literature, and Writing. This path helped me choose a four-year university that had an appreciation for the Liberal Arts; in 2009 I began my first year at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Creative and Professional Writing and a minor in Art History in 2011. After a two and a half year break working in sales and the medical field, I was accepted in to the Masters of Arts in English Education program at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. I completed my Student Teaching and graduated in May 2017. My new adventure at HLWW High School will be the start of the second year of teaching, having previously taught at a high school near Denver, Colorado. I am interested in extra-curricular activities such as theater, technical theater, and speech and debate. I am looking forward to an exciting year filled with new experiences in the state I call home!
