Hello and welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Mrs. Stifter and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! As the new school year approaches, I'd like to tell you a bit about myself. This is my sixth year as a teacher at Winsted Elementary and I am thrilled to be a part of the Laker family. Before becoming a full-time teacher, I was a substitute teacher at the HLWW district for almost 5 years.
I earned my Bachelor's degree at the University of MN (Go Gophers!), and my licensure from Crown College. I reside in New Germany with my husband, Jake, and our two boys. Logan is 8 years old and a 3rd grader at Winsted this year; Noah is 5 and a Kindergartener also at Winsted! Our family enjoys being outdoors more than anything. We love camping, going for walks and playing at the park. We also love to read, and this is a passion that I am so excited to bring into my classroom with your child! I think that reading is the key to all doorways in life, and literacy filters into every subject matter. Using elements of the Daily 5 reading program, ABC Bootcamp, the KinderLiteracy and Phonics curriculums, and Jan Richardson's Guided Reading, we will emphasize this importance and make your child a strong reader and a strong learner.
I cannot wait to work with you throughout this school year, as I know it will be a great one! Please don't hesitate to contact me for any reason!
