Welcome! My name is Jessica Pavlenko and I look forward to a great year of learning and laughter with you and your child!
I am currently entering my third year teaching 1st Grade here at Winsted Elementary, which I feel very fortunate to be a part of. The students, staff, and families here have the same goal-to help all children reach their own personal greatness! Plus, 1st Grade is where the magic happens! It truly is a joy to see students building friendships with others over commonalities, and sometimes, even differences, students reading with fluency and expression, writing sentences about what they did over the previous weekend, and doing addition and subtraction math facts with confidence. These are just some of the terrific milestones that can happen in 1st Grade, which is why I absolutely love my job!
I graduated from SCSU in 2005 with my K-5 (& 6-8 Language Arts) teaching degree, and before joining the HLWW School District, taught for 11 years at St. Francis Xavier School in Buffalo, MN-teaching Preschool, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade in my time there. I have a passion for Special Education, as both of my children have Autism, so in the future, I intend to further my studies in that area. I live in Maple Lake with my husband, Mark, and our 2 boys-Ethan and Collin, and enjoy reading, taking long walks, Pinterest, singing, playing piano, performing in musical theater, and spending time with the people I love.
