Hello Laker Families!
I am Mrs. Bogdan. This is my second year teaching Reading Block and Interventions at Humphrey Elementary. You may here me refer to my job as the "BEST JOB IN THE WORLD!", because for me I truly believe it is! I have loved reading since I was a child and still make time everyday to read books as a hobby at home. Last year, I was able to "re-live" some of my favorite childhood novels such as Bridge to Terebithia, Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing and Number the Stars. I also got to add some new favorites to my list like The Breadwinner and Sideways Stories from Wayside School. Inspiring young readers to love reading is where my passion lies!
Before I got THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD, I had THE OTHER BEST JOB IN THE WORLD; teaching kindergarten for 6 years at Winsted Elementary. I truly love the spirit of primary children and their passion for learning, school and the wonderment of the world. I am a BIG fan of the Nurtured Heart Approach for positive recognition of what all children are doing right.. I use it in my classroom and home alike!
I have two amazing little people that call me Mom. Cady is 10 and in 5th grade at the new HLWW Middle School. Drake is 3 and in preschool here at Humphrey Elementary. We live in Montrose and also have 2 fish (Tougher and Hunting Shack), 1 cat (Mr. Scotch), and 1 dog (Cabby). We love to jump on the trampoline, go on bike rides and walks, cook delicious food, read and enjoy each other's company.
I look forward to getting to know your family this year! Stop in, call or email anytime!
