Early Childhood Screening

Early Childhood Screening is required by MN Statutes prior to kindergarten enrollment.  This screening is helpful in identifying possible difficulties your child may have, so that proper steps may be taken to remedy these problems.

District 2687 offers free screening by highly trained staff in vision, hearing, growth, immunization status, and skills in thinking, communication and language, large and small muscle motor development and social/emotional development for children who are between three and four years old.  Screening usually takes about an hour.

The next screening date for 2020 will be in March 13, and will be held in the Media Center at the HLWW High School, located 2 miles south of Hwy 12 on CR 6, Howard Lake.

If your child has not been screened, please call Kim Hewson-Garber 320-543-4670 ext 2301 to schedule an appointment.

Once an appointment has been scheduled you will receive an information packet about a week before the screening.  Please complete the registration and consent forms along with the health and developmental questionnaires.  You will need to bring the completed packet along with a copy of current immunization records to the screening.  If you have any additional questions please feel free to call.
